MeltCam™ Overview

MeltCam™ is a novel thermal imager that provides emissivity independent temperature images and measurement of the melt pool in industrial welding and metal AM processes.  It provides precise temperature measurements using two wavelength (λ) pyrometry technology and high-resolution thermal images. The two-wavelength approach effectively eliminates sensitivity to emissivity; whereas other one-wavelength technologies require the emissivity to be estimated and set. This enables true temperature measurements for a variety of materials and geometries.

MeltCam™ consists of a camera with power supply, calibration system, and Windows software that will allow users to focus and calibrate the system, command and control the camera, acquire and store thermal images, compute metrics from the images, and view and export the live and stored thermal images and metrics.  Software licensing is provided with a USB dongle, so no external internet connection is required.
